The famous Chinese company Xiaomi today, on the first of July, officially introduced the new portable speaker XiaoAI Portable Speaker, which boasts truly compact dimensions. The device can be carried even in your pocket, and the cost is only 49 yuan ($ 7).
The only drawback of the novelty is that at the moment the manufacturer provides the opportunity to purchase a column exclusively on the Xiaomi Youpin website in China, while there is no information on the sale outside the country.
XiaoAI Portable Speaker from the design point of view has a very simple square case made of white plastic. The device is somewhat remotely reminiscent of old FM-receivers - even decorative perforation on the front side is present. The main advantage of such a simple design is the minimum weight, which is not yet specified by the manufacturer, and, of course, the dimensions of the gadget.
Also on the case, you can notice two keys to turn the device or its microphone on and off, as well as a USB Type-C port. On a single battery charge, the column will be able to work up to six hours in the playback mode of the content.
To communicate with the signal source, a Bluetooth 5.0 wireless network is used, thanks to which the user can transmit commands to the XiaoAI voice assistant. With commands, the user can control the process of playing music tracks, set a timer to turn off the device, check the battery charge, and so on.
The manufacturer notes that launching the voice assistant itself will be possible with just one team, which is quite convenient in everyday use. Naturally, the speaker can be connected to a smartphone or tablet to work in normal speaker mode for playing music or, for example, audio books.
For owners of devices based on MIUI, the developers also prepared a rather interesting bonus - the speaker can be quickly connected via a pop-up window on the display of a smartphone or tablet. True, this function only works on smartphones Mi 9 Pro, Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro, although the manufacturer promised to expand the list of devices in the future.
On the timing of delivery of the portable speaker Xiaomi XiaoAI Portable Speaker outside of China so far, no information is available.
